The average cost of a wedding in the U.S. in 2021 was $28,000, according to The Knot. That’s about the average debt for a bachelor’s degree, and it’s nearly half the average annual wage in the U.S. Many justify spending that much on one day because of the commonly held belief that your wedding is the best, happiest or most important day of your life. But some millennial brides say that’s not true. Here’s why they say a traditional wedding isn’t worth the money.
