Truxton Trust has hired a longtime wealth manager and trust advisor — who is also a two-time U.S. Presidential Volunteer Service Award winner — from SunTrust Bank.
Shannon Buckner has joined 15-year-old Truxton as a senior vice president and senior wealth advisor after a decade at SunTrust, where he was trust advisor and first VP. Buckner, who has nearly a quarter of a century of experience in all, is a past board member of the Financial Planning Association of Middle Tennessee and member of the Middle Tennessee Estate Planning Council. He earned his presidential awards for his service to organizations including the American Red Cross, Best Buddies of Middle Tennessee and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
“Shannon has an extraordinary passion for serving clients and extensive expertise,” Derrick Jones, Truxton’s senior managing director and chief fiduciary officer, said in a statement. “He is a great addition to our team of wealth advisors who are the best at what they do, and our clients deserve the very best.”
Truxton’s wealth management operation generated nearly $7.4 million in the nine months ended Sept. 30, up from $6.7 million in the same period of 2017. The business accounted for about 40 percent of Truxton’s total revenues.
