Agrosuper's owner to finance 50% of AquaChile's takeover

2 min read

Chilean agribusiness giant Agrosuper plans to buy rival salmon farmer AquaChile with financial resources provided by the company’s shareholders, bank loans and bonds from the stock market, the company said in a note to the Chilean Stock Market Commission (CMF).

The value of the company was set at $850 million (€735.6 million), but the final amount to be paid by Agrosuper will depend on how many shares are sold through the announced offer of public shares.

“Agrosuper plans to finance this transaction with resources provided by shareholders for an approximate 50 percent of the final amount, while the rest will be financed through bank credits and market bonds,” the company said.

Agrosuper is fully owned by businessman Gonzalo Vial Vial and his family through two different entities, Promotora Donihue, with 98 percent of the shares, and Agrocomercial El Paso.
